Good News

I have just woken up from a five hour nap. I was suffering flu like symptoms at school so I went home early and crashed. While I don't feel great I feel well enough to update everyone on the fishing. This fishing report is a long time over due.

First, the water temps are slowly warming up. As a result, Mackerel can be had out at the tip of Southport Island. You can see a picture of the lighthouse there below. With Mackerel around the Stripers should not be far behind. However, there are no reports as yet of any large schools up the Kennebec River which is usually the first place they turn up north of Casco Bay.

Tuna have also been reported down off the Northern edge of Jeffrey's Bank. Harpoon fisherman, over the weekend, from Southern Maine, brought in a dozen Giant Bluefin Tuna according to my friend John Manter.

This weekend I will surely get out fishing for pleasure. My friend Rob Carbone and several of his mates will be fishing together for a bachelor party. Depending on the weather and other factors we hope to go offshore for some ground fish. But, we may end up just fishing for Macs and Stripers. I will surely update the blog Sunday night.
