August 2

Let's start off by saying if you are coming to Maine this week for a vacation you should be pretty excited.  First, the weather is going to be tremendous.  Big beautiful blue days that are not too hot.  Seas will be down and this means the beaches and their reliable Striper bite will be accessible.  Further, the Striper fishing in the river remains strong.  Find the right ledge and you could soon have a double or triple hook up.  There are also Striper's on the Flats in Hockamock and Sagadahoc Bays.  Evan caught the beauty below in about 18" of water.
The Macs have been good for the most part.  Go out early in the morning with low wind and you can load right up.  But, if you head out later in the day looking for Mackeral you may have to work a bit harder at it.  You can still get them but it may take some doing.

The Squid are in as well.  You can get them in town or at most docks in East Boothbay or Souhtport with a good strong light.  Bring all the jigs you have so you can try everything because they can be fussy.

So, if you are coming to Maine this week you can expect some great weather and good inshore fishing.  My schedule at the moment for next week seems pretty open.  Give me a call if you are interested.
