More Signs of Life

Their have been some signs of life on the water. According to a Dresden resident the Alewives are stacked up right in town. The Eastern River flows through Dresden Mills and the alewives return there every year. Stripers are usually not too far behind. The Eastern River flows into the Kennebec and these returning Alewives are part of the reason our fishing can be so good in the late Spring.

Along the East side of southport the water temperature is 48 degrees. While this is cold, there are pockets of warmer water and lots of sea life. In the video below you can check out the birds. While our video camera took some great video you won't be able to tell that these birds are feeding on Brit, tiny herring. I saw several pockets of these birds in frenzy across the harbor too. If you are really hungry for more glimpes of life on the water in Boothbay, Maine or want to see the boy or the dog check out the video below titled Cruising out to Mouse.
